1.4539 is a highly corrosion-resistant, austenitic steel with a high resistance to a number of organic and inorganic acids. It has a high resistance to pitting corrosion and stress cracking corrosion.

1.4539 in use

This grade can also be used for media containing chloride, sea water, sulphuric and phosphoric acid solutions.

1.4539 is susceptible to the formation of hot cracks, on the other hand the material can be easily welded with all methods.
